Growing up I always struggled with my asthma. It affected every aspect of my life. At the age of 5 I was placed on steroids to help me breathe. The steroids did help my asthma tremendously, however there were side affects. One of which, an insatiable appetite. My breathing problems lead to a very sedimentary life-style. Add an eating problem to the mix, and you'll understand why I quickly gained weight. A lot of weight. Fast forward to my freshman year of high school, I was 320 pounds and unhappy with myself. I knew it was time to make a change. My parents found a personal trainer just across the street named Matt Sanders and my life took a turn for the better. Over the course of the next year I was able to shed off an amazing 140 pounds and keep it off! Matt taught me how to eat healthy on a budget and exercise on my busy schedule. He knew exactly how hard to push me, and helped me get over not only physical, but mental limitations. I am indebted to Matt for all of his help and believing I could change, even when I didn't believe in myself.
